El 25 de abril de 2026 se puso en marcha una iniciativa histórica para garantizar que las niñas, niños y los jóvenes no solo sean escuchados, sino que participen activamente en los eventos globales que afectan a sus vidas. Tras 15 meses de trabajo colaborativo por parte de un grupo diverso de activistas por los derechos de la infancia de todo el mundo, se dieron a conocer las Normas para la participación significativa de las niñas, niños y los jóvenes en eventos globales, lo que supone un importante paso adelante en la promoción de una participación inclusiva, respetuosa y con impacto.

The African Climate Summit, held in Nairobi, brought together Children’s Advisory Committee representatives of Dialogue Works like Julie, Mike, Phenylle and Diana, who are also actively engaged in addressing climate change within their communities. It is now official: children have the right to a healthy environment, and the United Nations must take measures to guarantee this right worldwide. This represents one of the largest child participation processes in the history of the United Nations, with the involvement of 2 members of the Children’s Advisory Committee from Dialogue Works, alongside contributions, comments, and feedback from 16,331 children from 121 countries.

The African Children Summit was a child-led conference for strengthening the visibility of children and their rights, following the motto: seen. heard. engaged. The Summit brought together children from across Africa and beyond to share their experiences on matters of children rights and protection.

In 2022, this «Global Conference on the Elimination of Child Labour» will be held in Durban, South Africa.
